WHO WE ARE

Bryan Windmills (A division of STEEL360 PTY LTD, ABN 67 667 165 568) of 2-8 Wilson Street, Colac VIC 3250 supplies, installs and services rural water equipment across the Colac district and surrounding areas.

This policy explains what personal information we collect, why we collect it, who we share it with, and how you can access or correct it. It applies to our website, our social media enquiry forms, and to dealing with us in person, by phone or by email.

WHAT WE COLLECT

We only collect what we need to quote, supply and service your water system. Typically that is:

  • Your name, phone number and email address

  • The location of the property we're working on, and access details

  • What you've asked us about, and notes about the job

  • Records of the work we've done, the equipment supplied and its service history

  • Billing and payment details, and any correspondence between us

We do not collect sensitive information such as health, religious or political information, and we'd ask you not to send it to us.

HOW WE COLLECT IT

  • Directly from you, in store, over the phone, by email or on site

  • Through forms on our website

  • Through enquiry forms on Facebook and Instagram. When you complete one of those, Meta passes your details to us and we handle them under this policy. Meta also handles that information under its own privacy policy, which we don't control.

  • Automatically, when you use our website — see COOKIES AND TRACKING

WHY WE USE IT

  • To answer your enquiry and give you a price

  • To supply, deliver, install, service or repair equipment

  • To arrange access to your property and schedule work

  • To invoice you and keep the records we're required to keep

  • To handle warranty claims with manufacturers

  • To let you know when something is due for service

  • To send you occasional information about products, offers and seasonal reminders, where you've agreed to receive it

  • To improve our website and understand which of our ads are working

We don't sell your personal information, and we don't share it with anyone for their own marketing.

COOKIES AND TRACKING

Our website uses cookies and similar technology to see how the site is used and to measure our advertising. Specifically:

  • Squarespace, which hosts our website, records basic visit information such as pages viewed and general location.

  • The Meta pixel, which tells us when someone who visited our site came from one of our Facebook or Instagram ads, and lets us show follow-up ads to people who have visited. It records events such as a page view, an enquiry form submission or a tap on our phone number.

You can turn cookies off in your browser settings, and you can control the ads you see through your Facebook and Instagram ad preferences. Turning cookies off may affect how parts of our website work.

WHO WE SHARE IT WITH

We share personal information only where we need to, and only as much as is needed:

  • Manufacturers and suppliers, for ordering, delivery and warranty

  • Contractors and tradespeople we engage to help with your job

  • Our IT, email, phone, SMS and website providers

  • Our accountants, bookkeepers and payment processors

  • Anyone else you've asked us to deal with on your behalf

  • Government agencies or others, where the law requires it

Some of these providers — including Meta, Squarespace and Google — store information on servers outside Australia, including in the United States. By dealing with us you agree to your information being handled that way.

HOW LONG WE KEEP IT

We keep customer and job records for as long as we need them to service the equipment we've supplied and to meet our tax, warranty and legal obligations — generally at least seven years.

If you ask us to stop contacting you, we'll keep enough information to make sure we don't contact you again by mistake.

MARKETING AND HOW TO STOP IT

If you're on our mailing list, every email has an unsubscribe link at the bottom and we action them straight away. You can also reply STOP to any SMS, or simply ring or email us and ask to come off the list. It won't affect the service you get from us.

KEEPING IT SECURE

We take reasonable steps to protect your information from misuse, loss and unauthorised access. That includes password-protected systems, restricting access to the people who need it, and using reputable providers.

No system is completely secure, but if something goes wrong that's likely to cause you serious harm, we'll tell you and notify the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner where the law requires it.

SEEING OR CORRECTING YOUR INFORMATION

You can ask us what personal information we hold about you, ask for a copy, or ask us to correct anything that's wrong or out of date. Ring us on 03 5232 1010 or email info@bryanwindmills.com.au and we'll sort it out. We may need to confirm who you are first.

There's no charge for asking, and we'll respond within a reasonable time.

If we can't give you what you've asked for, we'll explain why.

IF YOU'RE NOT HAPPY

Talk to us first — ring 03 5232 1010 or email info@bryanwindmills.com.au and tell us what's happened. We'll look into it and get back to you, usually within 30 days.

If you're still not satisfied, you can contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au or on 1300 363 992.

CHANGES TO THIS POLICY

We'll update this page if the way we handle information changes. The date at the top tells you when it was last revised.
